Action Isleworth Mothers (AIM) are super happy to announce that they are now the lead facilitator for the Hounslow Parent Carer Champion Network as generously supported by London Borough of Hounslow and the Violence Reduction Unit. Please take a look at the dedicated tab on our main website with all info, news, events and resources.
So what is it? The Hounslow Parent Carer Champion Network has been developed by AIM to provide peer support for parents whose children may be at risk of, or have already experienced issues around serious youth violence, criminal exploitation, adverse behaviour, school exclusion and/or the criminal justice system. It has been specifically created by parents to support and empower other parent/carers in Hounslow.
We have a number of fully-trained, relatable parent volunteers (all with lived experience) who are now available to accept referrals direct from parents themselves or from educational and statutory service professionals for any parent/carers who may be interested in receiving free and non-judgmental peer support, signposting and advice. In addition to this we will be running various community initiatives across the year to assist and empower parents and young people age 11-24 seeking confidential and inclusive support within our borough.
If you are a local parent and would rather meet us in person we will be running regular weekly local drop-ins across Hanworth/Feltham, Isleworth/Hounslow and Brentford from June - full details will be released via a separate announcement.
If you are a parent that is interested in becoming a Parent Carer Champion then please take a look at our Become A Champion section on our website and get in touch! We provide comprehensive training, incentives and networking opportunities for those interested in becoming a valued and important Parent Carer Champion.
